JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a strong, dynamic, and detail-driven Controller to lead the financial operations of our multi-entity organization. This is an exciting and impactful role for a strategic accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building and optimizing systems, and is passionate about contributing to Indigenous economic development.

The successful candidate will be a culturally aware leader who respects and values Cowessess First Nation’s history, culture, and initiatives in creating wealth and prosperity for our community. You will oversee the full accounting cycle, strengthen internal controls, optimize financial systems (particularly Sage 300), andprovide strategic financial insights that support informed decision-making and sustainable growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPA designation (or actively working toward CPA) preferred
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in multi-entity or multicompany environments
  • Hands-on experience with Sage 300 (Accpac), including GL, AP, AR, IC, and project/job costing modules is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and related-party transactions
  • Proven ability to build, improve, and optimize financial systems and reporting structures.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience in a business ventures or economic development environment is an asset
