Cowessess First Nation is the sole shareholder of Cowessess Ventures Ltd. (CVL). We are currently seeking new Board Members for the CVL Board.

Deadline to apply is February 13, 2026.

CVL’s main responsibility is to oversee existing and new business pursuits, including:

  • urban land development;
  • natural resources; and
  • equity into existing businesses, renewable energy, construction, and more.

CVL has had success with many projects since our inception in 2018.

  • 2021 – constructed a Tim Hortons restaurant.
  • Constructed a 10 MW solar project south east of Regina.
  • Developed a 200MW wind farm near Kipling.
  • Currently developing another 200 MW wind project near Weyburn.

In addition, Cowessess Ventures Ltd. continues to operate our 1 MW Renewable Energy Storage Facility and the two Cowessess Gas and Grocery Stations.

We need to put focused effort into strategic investment, policy development and focused staff recruitment in the near term. We continue to see great opportunities in new business development, business creation and industry partnerships moving forward. We aim to expedite the economic growth and business opportunities for Cowessess First Nation and its members.

We are renewing our existing Board of Directors and recruiting new Board Members. We are seeking individuals with expertise in the areas of:

  • legal;
  • financing;
  • corporate governance;
  • First Nation economic development;
  • land development;
  • renewable energy; and
  • government relations.

Our goal is to foster a Board that encompasses expertise in the core areas of development CVL currently operates in and aspires to operate in.

Board nominees will be adjudicated based on their expertise, experience, and potential of their future contributions.

Shortlisted candidates will undergo an interview process.
