Cowessess First Nation – Election Act Survey Now Live

Cowessess First Nation invites all members to participate in our Election Act Survey. This survey is an important step in reviewing and updating our Election Act to ensure it reflects Cowessess values, strengthens our governance system, and supports a fair, transparent, and accountable election process.

We are committed to building laws that reflect who we are as a Nation today—and who we aspire to be for future generations. To do this, we need direction from our membership.

Why Your Voice Matters:

  • The Election Act determines how leaders are chosen and how accountability is upheld.
  • Amendments must be guided by community input—not assumptions or individual opinions.
  • Participation from both On-Nation and Off-Nation members ensures a fair and inclusive process.
  • Your feedback helps identify gaps, clarify rules, and improve election integrity and accessibility.

This survey is a key part of our governance engagement process and will directly influence the amendments that the Focus Group and Governance Department bring forward for community review.

Your Participation Matters

We are aiming for 2,000 completed surveys, with a draw every 500 responses as a thank-you.

Note:

If you have questions or need help completing the survey, Navigators and Governance staff are ready to assist.

Your voice is vital. Together, we can strengthen the way Cowessess chooses its leaders and supports our Nation’s sovereignty.
