JOB SUMMARY: The Cowessess First Nation Lands & Resources is seeking a highly motivated individual for the Land Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant is under the direct supervision of the Lands Manager. He or she will perform general office support functions and shall be responsible for: recording meeting minutes and special projects, processing reports on accounts receivable, as well as maintaining the lands database, including all permit record files. The Administrative Assistant will be required to complete assigned reporting functions involving permit statistics, terminations, completing permit data and any other information as required. This position is also required to oversee all 4 Trust applications, submissions and responses and any other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
✓ Demonstrated knowledge of office administration procedures, clerical practices, and data processing systems.
✓ Grade 12 diploma or equivalent required.
✓ Office Administration training, certification, or related experience is considered an asset.
✓ Ability to understand and support land management functions and processes.
✓ Ability to accurately record meeting minutes and prepare written reports.
✓ Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain comprehensive permit records in both paper and electronic formats, and coordinate filing systems, indexes, and related records management activities.
✓ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
✓ Ability to follow direction, exercise initiative, and work independently with minimal supervision.
✓ Proficiency in computer operations, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
✓ Excellent written communication skills.
✓ Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide professional and courteous service to the public and demonstrate excellent telephone etiquette.
✓ Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining confidentiality in all sensitive matters.
✓ Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.
