JOB SUMMARY:
Cowessess First Nation is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Coordinator to join our Finance and Administration team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with Human
Resources, this position is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of payroll and employee benefits, while also supporting financial and administrative functions such as
accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoices, purchase orders, and other related documentation. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in Microsoft Office and payroll software such as ADP & SAGE Intacct. The P&B Coordinator must possess strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality, and have the ability to build positive working relationships. A willingness to learn, respect, and support the values, traditions, and culture of Cowessess First Nation is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Payroll certification is considered a strong asset.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in payroll, benefits administration, accounting, or a related field.
Thorough knowledge of payroll legislation, employment standards, statutory deductions, and benefits administration.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software systems.
Experience with payroll and accounting software; familiarity with ADP, SAGE Intacct, is considered an asset.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities, with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
