Notice of By-Election

To Electors of Cowessess First Nation:

 

Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Electors of the Cowessess First Nation #73 will be held at the Last Oak Golf & Country Club on Friday, the 16th day of August from the hours of 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. for the purpose of nominating a Candidates for:

One Resident Councillor

Any interested candidates please refer to sections of candidate eligibility in the Cowessess First Nation Custom Election Act, April 25, 2018. Please provide all required documents before the end of the Nomination Meeting.

A CANDIDATES’ FORUM ON RESERVE WILL BE HELD after the nomination meeting (August 16th). A zoom link will be provided for Cowessess Members online.

A CANDIDATE’S FORUM OFF RESERVE WILL BE HELD August 17, 2024, located at Seven Oaks Hotel, Regina SK, 777 Albert Street.

ADVANCE POLLS FOR THE ELECTION WILL BE HELD from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local

  • August 25, 2024 – Vancouver BC – location TBD
  • August 27, 2024 – Calgary AB – location TBD
  • August 29, 2024 – Edmonton AB – location TBD
  • August 31, 2024 – Saskatoon SK – location TBD
  • September 3, 2024 – Winnipeg MB – location TBD
  • September 4, 2024 – Regina SK – location TBD

 

THE ELECTION WILL BE HELD AT THE COWESSESS BAND HALL ON September 6th, 2024

from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thereafter, the results will be provided. The successful candidate will serve for the remainder of the current four year term.
