Rites of Passage Teachings

In preparation for the Hunting & Culture Camp, taking place October 7th – 9th.
Rites of Passage Teachings, which will be held on October 6th. This important day will include:
  • 1:00 pm – Session 1 (CCEC Students Middle Years & High school students)
  • 5:00 pm – Meal
  • 6:00 pm – Session 2 for Community Session
The teachings will focus on pimâcihowin isîhcikêwina (rites of passage), including:
  • iskwêwak isîhcikêwina – Women’s rites of passage
  • napêwak isîhcikêwina – Men’s rites of passage
  • awasisak isîhcikêwina – Children’s rites of passage
These teachings are vital to our ongoing culture and language revitalization efforts, helping us strengthen community identity, knowledge, and connection across generations.
